Philippines triple treat to Mexico

Yesterday , Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao ,the reigning WBC International featherweight champion, had defended his belt
from Oscar ‘Chololo’ Larios of Mexico in “Mano a Mano: Pilipinas vs Mexico”. The bout was held in
the Areneta Coliseum, around 2pm, sponsored by ABS-CBN, Solmux, San Miguel, Alaxan, Mc Donalds, Circulan at PGCR.
Personalities such as Mr. Richard Frazier and Referee John Campfield presented the fighting arena while Ronnie Damiso
ang Gov. Jose Villegas take their sits as game commentators. Bituin Escalante and Dorothy Manina sung the National anthem of
the Philippines and Mexico repectively before the match.

The Arenta Coliseum was crowded by foreigners, celebrities, public officials, entertainers, businessmen and sportsmen. The ticket ranged
from P5,000 to P52,000. Most of the people watched the fight on their TV sets as Manny paves his way to victory once again.
There were also some visiotors from General Santos, Manny’s Home Province, who were there. There was a training pre-view that
was done in the big dome last week. There, analyst formed their prerogatives according to what they saw during the public training.

On their statistics, Youth, speed and money are on Manny’s side while the height, Age, Endurance are on Larios. They have the same
arm reach. On the scale, Manny weighs 129.5 lbs more than a pound from his opponent, just right for the 130lb weight limit.
Gerry Penalosa and Jojo Roxas fought and luckly won in the undercard division. And When Pacquiao vs Larios showdown tips off,
everybody throws their hats-off! A huge commotion happened in that gigantic room.

Audiences cheered for their champion as soon as he appeared. Cling, Cling, Cling! The pressure heightened, the shouts burst out, there’s no turning back for both contenders. 12 rounds of
non-stop teeth gnashing, fist clenching and body sweating showdown. Banging gloves welcomed the first round that appetizes the clash-hungry viewers. The hurrays suddenly turedn into oohhs
when Pacman was jolted a couple of times by Larios’ wild attacks in the third round. However, The re-energizing cheers of the fans helped Manny to find his self again. Manny unleashed his
his fast and deadly blows to his opponent. He lacerated Larios a three painful cuts: On his eyebrows and one on the lower right eye. An overhead punch, that Manny perfected, rocked Larios
three times. Pacman’s Lateral moves and quick shuffles made Larios stand in chaos. On the 10th and last round, Larios was knockdown-ed but successfully hop back to the game. Manny Paciuao won
by unanimous decision of the three judges from Thailand, France and Taiwan.

Afterwards, A foreign mediaman interviewed both fighters and guess what– Manny spoken in Dollar! That made the crowd to laugh out loud. Next, He turned to Larios along with its interpreter.
“Salamat Pacquiao, Salamat Pilipinas” these comforting words came out from Larios that earned him the respect of the Filipino Nation.

Another war that we had been triumphant. This victory boosted not only the moral if the Filipinos, but the respect of the world as well.
